Johannesburg GeekFest 2015

I found out quite late about the GeekFest but was nevertheless happy that I got the opportunity to go to this amazing event.

The event organised by the Dark Carnival took place at Huddle Park, Golf and recreation in Linksfield Edenvale on Saturday the 4th of  July from 10am to 10pm. Like the previous event, various dealers selling their wares from original art, to toys, comics, artisitic makeup designing skills, food stalls to Kenjitsu training, Fight a Knight and many other miscellaneous items. This was one of the few events that I've been to that actually delivered more than it promised with Events like the Zombie run, standup comedy, live music and a beer garden with John Snow and an Iron throne photo themed studio.

With so many cool stalls and amazing events lined up throughout the day, the enthusiasm of many of the visitors who chose to partake in the cosplay added to the electrifying synergy of this unique event which also seemed to have had the biggest array to date of various cosplayers that I have seen in one show. The 2nd hand trading station was an amazing treasure chest filled with nuggets of geek fantasy, from trading cards and action figures to graphic novels and comic books that will never match in price to what you will find outside of Geek Fest.

Looking forward to the next event.

Be sure to follow the organisers to keep up with follow up events.
