In 2005, author David Foster Wallace was asked to give the commencement
address to the graduating class of Kenyon College. However, the
resulting speech didn't become widely known until after he died in 2008.
His brilliant mind has since gained traction through a recent video
adaptation of his speech, "This is Water." If you want some life advice,
or even if you don't, you need to watch this video.
The two biggest takeaways are that perception is reality, and while you
can't always change your reality, you are free to choose how you
perceive the things around you. Secondly, education can either be
dismissed once you toss your cap in the air, or used to challenge
yourself on a daily basis, sparking a chain reaction of thoughts that
change your outlook on life.
Watch this video and let that chain reaction begin.
