The Fourth episode of Mortal Kombat was released today. This segment of the story focuses on the origins of Kitana and Mileena and the fall of Edenia at the hands of the Tarkatan warriors of outworld. Baraka's character seemed to have undergone a drastic change in costume design from what we saw in the rebirth trailer, it doesnt look as though Lateef Crowder is acting as Baraka anymore, Bummer, the character Baraka now looks more like the Orcs from Lord of the rings bearing some similarity to the original arcade version.
They have creatively chosen to tell the story inter-fusing anime and live action delivering a more complete story that fits very well with the mortal kombat mythology. I think it will be good to see more of Edenia fleshed out in future episodes to give viewers a more cursory understanding of what outworld is about. As Shao Khan has made his first appearance in this episode, it will be interesting to see the direction the producers would like his story line to take.
My only disappointment for this episode is not seeing Lateef Crowder and that the producers of this show have opted to rigidly stick to the original plot of Mortal Kombat and not indulge us in the alternate universe we originally saw in MK rebirth.
Enjoy todays episode.
