Head of the Cannabis Working Group Andre du Plessis lit up and smoked what appears to be cannabis on SABC Newsroom show during a live TV interview on Monday.
During the interview with Nayever and Du Plessis, CDA’s Nayever said Xenophobia attacks in SA played a part in delaying talks around legalisation of cannabis.
“Unfortunately, part of the delay in initiating might have been because of the xenophobia attacks which is also part of what the department of social development has to deal with...” says Nayever.

Du Plessis then urged Nayever to avoid using the recent xenophobia attacks as a reason the delay in discussions about the legalising cannabis in SA.
“The CDA is 11 years late in presenting its position paper. Please don’t bring xenophobia into this as a form excuse into being late and doing your job,” said Du Plessis to Nayever.
Du Plessis proceeded to light up what appears to be cannabis and smoking it on live television.
